Terms of service
What you are agreeing to when you book a shipment through DrWaybill. Written to be read, not to be skipped.
Last updated 1 October 2026.
1.What DrWaybill is
DrWaybill books shipments in two ways. For Local and Express, we compare live prices from third-party carriers (such as Fez, DHL, Redstar, UPS and FedEx), take your payment, and book the carrier you choose through our logistics partner, Terminal Africa. The carrier collects, carries and delivers the parcel, and its own terms of carriage govern that journey — including its liability limits and its rules on what may be shipped.
For DrWaybill Cargo, you bring the parcel to our office and we send it on through our freight partner. The price is set by us and shown before you pay.
2.Your account
Booking and tracking need an account. You sign in with your email and a password, and we confirm your email with a code when you sign up. Keep your password private — anyone who has it can see your shipments and book on your account.
Before your first booking we verify your identity: you upload a photo of your ID and a selfie, and our team checks that they match each other and your account name. You can see prices at any time; you can book once you are verified. We may decline to verify, or withdraw verification, where the details do not match.
You must be at least 18 and the details you give us must be accurate. Addresses, phone numbers and parcel contents are used to send a real vehicle to a real place; a wrong address is the commonest cause of a failed delivery and is not refundable as a service failure.
3.Prices
Prices are in Nigerian naira and already include our charge. There is no separate booking fee: the price shown when you pay is the price you are charged.
Carrier prices are live and change. Just before we charge you, we check the price with the carrier again; if it has changed or expired, we ask you to choose again rather than charge a different amount from the one you agreed to.
A carrier may re-weigh or re-measure your parcel. Big, light parcels are charged by size as well as weight, as airlines do. If the parcel differs materially from what you declared, the carrier may charge an adjustment, which we pass on to you with the carrier’s evidence.
4.Payment and booking
Payment is taken by Paystack. We never see or store your card details. We only book with a carrier after Paystack confirms your payment to us directly.
Occasionally a payment succeeds and the booking then fails — a carrier outage, an address the carrier rejects, a route that closed. Your money is not lost: we either book it again at no extra cost to you or refund you in full. See our refund policy.
5.Collection and drop-off
Some services collect from your door; others require you to drop the parcel off. Every international service, some services within Nigeria, and all DrWaybill Cargo shipments are drop-off. We tell you which before you pay, and where to bring the parcel afterwards — in your confirmation email and on your tracking page. A parcel that is not dropped off is not shipped.
Instead of dropping it off, you can usually pay for a collection: a courier picks the parcel up from your address and brings it to our office, and we send it on. The collection is charged at the courier’s cost and shown as its own line before you pay.
6.Sender verification
Some carriers, including DHL for deliveries within Nigeria, must verify the sender before they collect. For those, we ask for the sender’s National Identification Number (NIN) and the name on the booking must match the name on the NIN. We pass it to our logistics partner for that check before you pay; we do not keep it. See our privacy policy.
7.What you may not ship
Every carrier has a list of prohibited and restricted goods, and it binds you. Commonly prohibited: cash and negotiable instruments, firearms and ammunition, explosives, flammable gases and liquids, illegal drugs, live animals, human remains, and anything illegal at the origin or destination.
You are responsible for what is in your parcel and for describing it accurately, including for customs. On international shipments, import duties and taxes are not in our price and are paid by the receiver in the destination country.
8.Delivery times
Delivery times shown are estimates — the carrier’s, or ours for DrWaybill Cargo. They are not guarantees. Customs, weather, road conditions and carrier capacity all affect them.
9.Insurance
You can choose to insure a parcel when you book. The cover is provided through our logistics partner, priced on the value you declare, and charged at cost — we add nothing to it. A claim on an insured parcel is made through us and settled under that cover. DrWaybill Cargo shipments cannot be insured through us.
10.Loss, damage and claims
If an uninsured parcel is lost or damaged in transit, the claim is against the carrier and is limited by that carrier’s liability limits, which are often far below the value of the goods. We will help you make it and share every record we hold.
Our own liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for that shipment. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit or a missed business deadline.
11.Cancellation
To cancel, contact our support team with your reference — cancellation is not a button, because a booked waybill involves a carrier and a refund involves money that has already moved. A shipment can usually be cancelled until the carrier collects it. What you get back is set out in our refund policy.
12.Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and the terms in force when you booked are the ones that apply to that shipment.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the Nigerian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising under them.
